The Venedig 39 is a historically faithful original pilot watch with a luminous dial, a type A layout and an automatic movement – in a compact 39 mm size. If you are looking for a pilot watch that is fully readable in the dark and winds itself as you wear it, you will find both here.
The entire dial is coated with luminous material, which reverses the usual picture: at night the surface glows, while the numerals, the triangle and the black-lacquered hands stand out darkly against it. By day, the watch appears light and unusually friendly for an instrument watch.
It is built like the observation watches of the 1940s: barrel-shaped case with straight lugs, closed press-fit case back, dark sandblasted finish and domed sapphire crystal. Of the five historic manufacturers worldwide, Laco is the only one that still makes pilot watches this way today.
The compact case fits slimmer wrists, for women and men alike. The black riveted calfskin strap frames the light dial – an observation watch that looks bright by day and glows by night.
