DIN 8330 vs. TeStaF:
When testing becomes even more challenging.

The German Institute for Standardization (DIN - formerly Deutsche Industrie Norm) is the most important national standardization organization in Germany.
DIN standards provide a benchmark for flawless technical performance. DIN-tested products stand for outstanding, tested quality and excellent products ""Made In Germany"

DIN 8330 has replaced the outdated TeStaF (Technical Standard for Pilot's Watches). The test scenario has been extended in parts. This serves to ensure the quality characteristics and in particular the cockpit requirements in an aviation and means even stricter requirements for the watch.

Captured for you:
Exciting tests in sound and vision

Laco's DIN 8330-certified pilot watches represent the best of both worlds - the timeless aesthetics of classic pilot watches paired with state-of-the-art technology and certified precision. Among the test standards to be met is resistance to liquids typical of flight operations, such as fuels or lubricating liquids.

Compatibility with the cockpit environment and night vision equipment must also be ensured. Similarly, it must be ensured that no reflections, glare or mirroring - of housing or glass - obstruct pilots in flight. It is equally important that the watch withstands even the strongest vibrations, shocks and impacts and, thanks to the excellent strap strength, always sits securely on the wrist.

Part 01

Testing the mechanical, thermal, chemical and physical resistance of the watch.

Part 02

Subtest examining the effects of the pilot's watch on magnetic compasses certified in aircraft.

FH Aachen, Aerospace Engineering Department confirms:
"Laco passed the test with distinction in all sub-areas."
