The Wien 39 is a historically faithful original pilot watch with a type B dial, a luminous dial and an automatic movement – compact, light and fully readable at night. It combines the navigators' dial with a luminous surface that reverses the familiar look of an observation watch.
Here, luminous material covers the entire dial. The minute track at the edge, the inner hour ring and the black-lacquered hands stand out darkly, so the time can be read at a glance even in the dark.
The automatic movement keeps the watch running while you wear it, and the construction dates back to the 1940s: barrel-shaped case, straight lugs, closed press-fit case back and dark sandblasted finish. Of the five historic manufacturers worldwide, only Laco still makes pilot watches in this way today.
At 39 mm, the Wien is an authentic pilot watch for slimmer wrists. The black riveted calfskin strap and the domed sapphire crystal round off the look. If you prefer a more modern style, the Pilot Watches BASIC collection offers the contemporary interpretation.
