A triangle, two dots, large Arabic numerals – the Augsburg 42 needs nothing more. This automatic watch from the Pilot Watches BASIC collection features the type A dial, the dial of the pilot watches of the 1940s. It was designed so the time could be taken in at a fleeting glance, even under stress or in poor visibility.
Laco translates this clarity into a modern pilot watch. While the ORIGINAL series recreates the historical model with a sandblasted case and high-domed crystal, the Augsburg comes satin-finished, with a flat sapphire crystal and curved lugs that sit comfortably on the wrist. At 42 mm, the dial has room to breathe without looking bulky.
Through the exhibition case back you can watch the automatic movement, and in the dark the numerals and hands glow. The brown riveted leather strap echoes the straps of historical pilot watches and gains more character with every year. On request, it closes with a folding clasp.
For anyone looking for a pilot watch in its clearest form – worn every day, not kept in a display case.
